(May 13, 2015) – AYERSVILLE: If there’s been one issue plaguing the Stryker Panthers this season, it has been the offense…specifically the inconsistence of the offense. Coming into their May 13 Sectional Final against Ayersville, a team with which they split a double dip back on April 11, the Panther Pack needed to provide punch on both sides of the ball.
Stryker sent senior ace Parker Ruffer on the hill, and he pitched well enough to win. The offense was limited to a fifth inning RBI double from Ruffer though, and despite a late rally attempt, the single run was all that the Panthers could generate in a 3-1 loss.
Ruffer went the distance for the Panthers, allowing single runs in the second, fourth and sixth innings. He allowed 7 hits, walked 5 and fanned 4.
Cameron Frey and Tyrel Patterson accounted for the remainder of the Stryker offense, as each had a pair of singles for the 14-11 / 6-4 Panthers.
