The Superior Township Trustees met for their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.

An inventory inspection was held prior to the meeting with Trustees Mike Trausch, Dan Gillen, and Road Superintendent Cody Boyd. Fiscal Officer Vanessa Shepard was also in attendance.

The meeting began with the reading and approval of the February 23, 2026 meeting minutes.

During discussion of old business, trustees received an update regarding Snow’s Fire Protection. The business is expected to visit Superior Township in July 2026 to inspect and recertify the site’s fire extinguishers. Snow’s Fire Protection had previously recertified the township’s equipment in 2025.

Fiscal Officer Shepard presented a detailed credit card resolution outlining guidelines for township credit card usage, including provisions related to trustee access and security procedures.

The resolution was accepted and Shepard will move forward with obtaining the credit cards.

Road Superintendent and Cemetery Sexton Cody Boyd provided updates regarding the township’s maintenance. In his role as Cemetery Sexton, he reported one burial.

Superior Township has been awarded a state grant to replace road signs that do not meet reflectivity standards. “Superior Township is up for it,” Trausch said.

“They got a whole list of townships that are qualified for it, and this is our year to do it.” Boyd is currently compiling a list of qualified road signs.

A motion to pay the bills and sign checks was approved. Several deeds and transfer permits were also presented and signed.

“We have ordered a new columbarium for cremations. It’s going to match the one that’s out there already,” stated Gillen.

The columbarium will be placed east of the original structure. Trustees hope to see the project completed by fall.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:56 p.m. The next Superior Township meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
