Swanton High School held their 2022 Homecoming Ceremony before the game against Archbold on October 7. Attendants were driven on the field in sports cars and got dropped off to walk the field on the east end.
First was freshmen attendant, Hailey Frosch, who is the daughter of Brenda and Greg Frosch. She is involved quiz bowl, golf, marching band, student council (President), secretary of incredible clovers, 4-H, yearbook committee, Swanton Church of the Nazarene Praise Team and plays violin.
Freshmen atendant Logan Feuerstein was announced next, who is the son of Kristi and Kurt Feuerstein. Logan is involved in wrestling, e-sports and quiz bowl.
The sophomore attendant was Zara Wylie, who is the daughter of Mike and Lisa Wylie. Zara is involved in volleyball. She was followed by sophomore attendant Anthony Kozakiewicz, the son of Callie Jacobs and Brain Kozakiewicz.
Anthony is involved in the 400-meter dash, the four-by-four-meter relay race and the four by two-hundred-meter relay race for track, he is a defensive and tight end for football.
The first junior attendant was Hailey Keefer. She is the daughter of Gayline Diller and Craig Collins. Hailey is involved in volleyball, indoor track, softball, track, leadership and student council.
Junior attendant, Jonah Rico took the field next. Jonah is the son of Sabrina Rico and Daniel Lozano. He is involved in football, leadership and chorus.
Final Junior attendant was Madee Purdy. She is the daughter of Crystal and John Purdy. Madee is involved in volleyball, cheer, basketball, mattmaiding, interact, student council, National Honor Society, frosh fest, show choir and the play ‘Check Please’ along with the musical ‘Frozen’.”
Madee was followed by Brady Arnold, who is the son of Carrie and Jake Arnold. He is involved in football, track, National Honor Society, Boy scouts and 4-H.
Alexa Armitage was the first senior attendant to cross the field, she is the son of Marisha Meyers and Trevor Meyers. Alexa is involved in cheerleading, Youth Leadership Toledo, frost fest mentor, prom committee, and school musicals. She plans to study Pre-Dentistry at Kent State University.
Alexa was followed by senior attendant Lucas Borojevich. Lucas is the son of Nic Borojevich and is involved in basketball. He plans to continue playing basketball through college where he will major in Exercise Science or Business.
Megan Haseleman was the next senior attendant. She is the daughter of Jennfer and Ted Haselman. Megan is involved in varsity soccer (captain), varsity basketball, varsity track, National Honor Society (Secretary), student council, business professionals of America, interact, seed, musical, prom committee and frosh fest mentors. Her future plans involve attending college but is currently undecided.
Megan was followed by Senior attendant, Kaden Curtis. He is the son of Nicole Curtis and the brother to Kinley Curtis. Kaden is involved in football, baseball, National Honor Society, interact, student council, show choir, and plays and musicals. He plans to attend college for Bio-Medical Engineering.
Saylor McNally took the field next. Saylor is the daughter of Kim and Jeff McNally. She is involved in National Honor Society (Vice President), student council, show choir (president), school musicals, frosh fest mentor, business professionals of America and piano concert/competitions. Her plans are to attend college.
Saylor was followed by Hayden Callicotte, who is the son of Sally and Jeff Callicotte. He is involved in varsity soccer, varsity basketball, student council, National Honor Society, business professionals of America, and is a frosh fest mentor. He plans to attend college and get a degree in mechanical engineering.
Alaina Pelland was the next Senior attendant. She is the daughter of Elisha and Craig Pelland. Alaina is involved in student council, National Honor Society, S.E.E.O, show choir, musical, business professionals of America, varsity soccer (captain), varsity basketball, varsity softball, frosh fest mentor and on the prom committee. Her future plans are to attend an undecided college and major in accounting.
Alaina was followed by Cole Mitchey, who is the son of Sean and Gretchen Mitchey. Cole is involved in football, basketball, track and chorus. He plans to attend the University of Toledo to major in computer programing or business and to further continue his football career.
Swanton High School’s 2022 Homecoming Queen was senior Katlyn Floyd, who is the daughter of Kim and Scott Floyd. She is involved in volleyball, basketball, track and field, National Honor Society, Ambassador, drug free club, frosh fest mentor and musical. She will graduate with a cosmetology license from Penta Career Center. Her future plans are to attend Ohio Northern University with an undecided major, she plans to play volleyball and throw for track.
Katlyn was followed by Homecoming King, Senior Andrew Smigelski. He is the son of Jeremy and Kelli Smigelski. Andrew is involved in football, baseball, basketball, show choir, musical and leadership. He plans to attend college to become an engineer.
Following the Homecoming ceremony Swanton lost a well-played game against Archbold.
