Swanton Woman Involved In Multiple Vehicle Crash On I-475 Near Maumee

(PRESS RELEASE) – Monclova Township – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a multiple vehicle crash that occurred on December 4, 2024 at approximately 9:40 P.M.

The crash occurred on Interstate Route 475 in the northbound lane near milepost 06 in Monclova Township, Lucas County.

Mohamed Farah, age 41, of Blacklick, Ohio was operating a 2007 Freightliner commercial vehicle on Interstate Route 475 in the right lane. Gibril Nasser, age 28, of Dearborn, Michigan was operating a 2016 Wabash commercial vehicle in the right lane.

Addam Nasser, age 23, of Dearborn, Michigan was a rear passenger of Mr. G. Nasser’s vehicle. Kari Oberlin, age 28, of Swanton, Ohio was operating a 2018 Ford EcoSport in the left lane. Mr. G. Nasser failed to maintain an assured clear distance and struck Mr. Farah. Mrs. Oberlin then struck Mr. G. Nasser

Mr. G. Nasser sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to University of Toledo Medical Center by Monclova Emergency Medical Services.


Mr. A. Nassar sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Toledo Hospital by Maumee Emergency Medical Services. Mrs. Oberlin sustained minor injuries and was transported to Sylvania Mercy Hospital by Maumee Emergency Services.

Troopers were assisted on scene by Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Maumee Fire and Rescue, Maumee Emergency Medical Services, Springfield Emergency Medical Services, Monclova Emergency Medical Services Ohio Department of Transportation, Bubba’s Towing Company and Joey’s Towing Company.

The crash remains under investigation.
