NEW YEAR … The Taine Club kicked off a new year of reading and fellowship with a fall luncheon at Wesley United Methodist Church planned by the officers’ president, Vicki Rathbun, vice president, Sue Compo, Secretary Georgetta Kuhman, and treasurer Helene Moog. After the luncheon, Rathbun welcomed everyone and led the group reading the Collect. Secretary and treasurer reports were shared. A note of thanks from Friends of the Library was read to Taine Club members who helped with the summer Book Sale at the Williams County Public Library. Compo announced the theme for the year “Dare to Dream.” The All-Read book is I Am Maria by Maria Shriver. The book is a powerful collection of Shriver’s own poems that deal with identity, grief, love, loss, and healing. They address life’s transitions, challenges, successes and failures. Shriver’s words are her life experiences woven into poetry to inspire everyone on their own journey. I Am Maria is a road map for anyone trying to shed the labels, layers, and armor that hold us back from “dreaming” and creating an authentic and meaningful life. The book will be discussed at the next meeting Monday, October 13, 1:00 pm, at the home of Helene Moog. Pictured is Front row Left- Helene Moog, Sue Compo, Georgetta Kuhman, Carol Nowak.
