Community members gathered at the Congregational United Church of Christ Sunday after noon to bring awareness to world hunger by participating in the annual C.R.O.P. walk.
The group had two options to go on a shorter walk or complete the task of walking by every church in the downtown Wauseon area. James Kerr, event coordinator, explained that the event is an annual event and there are over 2,000 communities that take part in the walk once a year.
“We have certainly been blessed today with a beautiful day to walk and make people aware of the plight of the hunger that is realistic in all our community.”
25% of the proceeds raised for the event were going to the Wauseon F.I.S.H. program. F.I.S.H. stands for Friends In Service for Him.
