The Pettisville Lady Blackbirds Swarm & Claw Their Way To Victory Over Stryker

STRYKER – The Pettisville Lady Blackbirds went heads up against the Stryker Lady Panthers on October 9 in a hard-fought match which eventually saw Pettisville win in three close sets, 25-21, 25-17, and 29-27.

Emily Hubby led the Lady Blackbirds in service, racking up 7 aces while also leading in assists with 17, co-leading in digs with 6, and scoring 8 kills, second-most on the team, what a monster performance. Ashlynn Waidelich also had 6 digs while also counting 2 aces and leading the team with 9 kills. Jordyn Pursel also counted 2 aces on the night as well as contributing 2 digs and 4 kills. Claire Fry had a whopping 12 assists in the contest while also adding 3 digs and 1 ace. Devon Friend and Carley Hoffmire each scored 1 kill in the match with Hoffmire also adding 3 digs. Emily Eicher counted 5 digs along with 1 ace and 1 kill while Dana Fricke added 6 kills of her own. Emily Kauffman added 2 aces and 5 digs to the team totals while Molly Bruner and Stephanie Hubby contributed 1 kill and 1 dig respectively.

For Stryker, Maddie Uribes led the Lady Panthers with 11 assists while Connor Varner, Christie Huston, and Rae Crutchfield each scored 5 kills with Varner also counting 1 ace, Huston adding 4 aces and 7 blocks, and Crutchfield leading the team with 8 blocks.
