Three People Arrested After Leading Authorities On Chase Through Defiance

On January 20th, 2020, a deputy located suspicious vehicles at Stykemain’s GMC, Buick, located at 25124 Elliot Rd, Defiance. One subject fled the scene in a stolen vehicle and was located by a city officer.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver fled. The pursuit led officers through the city, then east through Henry County. and into Wood County. The driver was apprehended, and the vehicle was recovered. Assistance was provided by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, and the Defiance County Prosecutor’s office.

The arrestees were transported to CCNO pending initial court appearance on January 22nd, 2020 at 815am.


Arrested were: Kaleigh Fletcher: age 20 of Springfield Ohio. Charged with Breaking and Entering; Barryn McDonnell: Age 22 of Rolla, Mo. Charged with Breaking and Entering; Christian Malzahn: Age 23 of Springfield Ohio. Charged with Receiving Stolen Property, and Failure to Comply with the Signal of a Police Officer.

Further Charges are pending prosecutor’s office review.
