WEST UNITY – If the fuses on the scoreboard at the new Hilltop sports complex needed testing, they got it on April 5 against Tinora. With six total errors and pitchers that were not exactly fooling many batters, the amperage on the board was high, but it fared better than the home team as the Rams escaped with a 16-10 win.
Nic Schieber got the start, but he was lathered for 8 runs, 6 earned on 7 hits and 2 walks, striking out 2 in 2 2/3 innings. Logan Brooker worked 3 innings and gave up 6 unearned runs on 5 hits and 4 walks, fanning 5. Chad Champion threw 1 1/3 inning, allowing 2 runs, one being unearned on 2 hits and 2 walks.
