Turley Leads Toledo To 3-0 Win Over Columbus

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Joshua Turley allowed just two hits over eight innings, leading the Toledo Mud Hens over the Columbus Clippers in a 3-0 win on Wednesday.

Turley (2-1) picked up the win after he struck out two and walked three.

The only score of the game came in the eighth inning when Christin Stewart hit a three-run home run.

Adam Plutko (3-3) went 7 1/3 innings, allowing two runs and seven hits to take the tough loss in the International League game. He also struck out two and walked two. Victor Alcantara recorded his first save of the season.


Eric Stamets doubled twice for the Clippers. Columbus was held scoreless for the fifth time this season, while the Toledo staff recorded its fifth shutout of the year.
