On June 23, 2020, two young girls were riding bikes when they noticed a young boy struggling in a pond. The girls got help and the young boy was rescued. The 7-year old boy had wandered away from his house and to a nearby neighbor’s pond. Due to the quick thinking of the girls, the boy was saved. The Metamora Fire Department honored the girls on August 10th. Deputy Noah Eisel of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office presented Brailynn Demoulin (center) and Sierra Lauharn (right) with a Civilian Award Certificate in recognition of a commendable contribution to the community.
