The United Way Fulton County is nearing the end of our 2013 campaign. Donations have been coming in slowly, and we anticipate that a few more company campaigns will come in within the next few weeks. To date, we have received pledges for only 65% of what we received last year. Unfortunately, as the economy worsens, the need grows.
If you have already donated to the United Way during this year’s campaign, thank you for your contribution. If you have not yet donated this year, please consider giving whatever amount is comfortable for you. If all of us give just a little, we can make a big difference in the lives of so many in Fulton County. Your contribution, no matter the amount, does make a difference!
When you give to the United Way, you are investing in our community. You are helping feed hungry families; you are providing children from low-income families with school supplies and books; you are providing safe shelter for domestic violence victims; you are assisting cancer patients under going treatment; you are helping families to become financially stable, and so much more. Every time a child succeeds in school, a family is able to stay in their home, or someone overcomes poverty, our entire community benefits-you benefit.
At some time in our lives, most of us have struggled with making ends meet. Imagine what it must be like for someone making minimum wage trying to raise a family or an elderly person on a fixed income. It takes everyone in the community working together and caring for one another to create a brighter future. Together, we can accomplish more than any single group can on its own.
There really is a way to make our community an even better place to live. It begins when you make a choice. To reach out. To lend a hand. To open your heart. To give.
Together, united, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow.
