Varsity Volleyball Scores – August 22nd – 27th, 2016

Varsity Volleyball
August 22nd, 2016

Delta started its season with a win over Fayette with scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-20.

Edgerton defeated Montpelier in three sets with scores of 27-25, 25-19 and 29-27.

Pettisville defeated Holgate in three games with scores of 25-6, 25-20, 25-17. The Blackbirds were led by Morgan Leppelmeier who finished 23 of 25 serving including seven aces. Jess Youse led Pettisville with 12 kills and Teagan Kauffman added eight kills. Kyra Behnfeldt also served up seven service aces while finishing 11 of 13 serving. Carly Bontrager served up four aces on 11 of 13 serving and also contributed with 26 assists.

August 23rd, 2016

Lake defeats Delta
The Delta Panthers last four sets with Lake but the Flyers prevailed with scores of 31-29, 19-25, 25-11, 25-23. Leading Delta were Mary Miller with nine kills, four blocks, two aces and three digs. Kinsey Finnen was a force at the net with 12 kills, one ace and 15 digs. Abby Freeman led in assists with 21.

Antwerp tops North Central
The Eagles fall in three sets with scores of 10-25, 22-25, 11-25.

Edon is victorious in BBC play
The Bombers made short order of Hilltop with a three set win with scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 26-24. Aubrey Wyse led Edon with seven kills, nine of 12 serving and one ace. Felicity Jackson also helped the Bombers cause with 17/18 serving, three aces and 18 assists.

Montpelier defeats
Stryker in four games
The Panthers opened their conference season with a match against new BBC member Montpelier. Stryker battled but came up short with scores of 25-17, 15-25, 21-25, 19-25. Emma Grime finished with 14/15 serving with two aces along with 97/97 setting and 21 assists. Brooklyn Whitlock was 13/14 serving 22/25 hitting with seven kills. Haley Doehrmann and Courtney Stewart added six kills apiece. The Locomotives welcomed new head coach Khrysta Coleman with her first victory at the helm.

Pettisville wins in three games
The Blackbirds moved to 2-0 overall and won their first BBC game of the season over Fayette with scores of 25-12, 25-21 and 25-17. Morgan Leppelmeier was 12/12 serving with two aces, 22/24 hitting and finished with eight kills. Teagan Kauffman finished with 20/26 hitting and five kills. Carly Bontrager was 13/14 serving with one ace and 27 assists.

August 25th, 2016

Fairview downs Stryker
The contest lasted four games but it would be the Fairview Apaches prevailing with scores of 18-25, 25-10, 25-13, 25-11. Courtney Stewart was 9/10 serving, 15/21 hitting with six kills and nine digs. Along with Stewart for the Panthers were: Emma Grime 15/15 serving, 77/84 setting and 17 assists; Katelyn Tingley 20/28 hitting with seven kills and Brooklyn Whitlock 5/6 serving with one ace, 14/20 hitting wit two kills and 10 digs. Stryker is currently 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the BBC.

Pettisville wins BBC match over Edon
The Blackbirds were victorious with scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-13. Pettisville, 3-0 and 2-0 in the BBC, was led by Teagan Kauffman’s 23/27 hitting with 15 kills and she was 6/7 serving. 12 kills came from the net play of Morgan Leppelmeier she also finished 21/24 hitting and was 16/16 serving with four aces. Carly Bontrager contributed to the win as well with 18/19 serving and four aces, 99/99 setting with 26 assists. Shaylee Manahan led Stryker with eight kills and 12 digs. Hannah Kaylor and Netta Halonen added four kills apiece.

Montpelier wins BBC
match over Hilltop
The Locomotives took just three sets to come away with the conference win. Montpelier won with scores of 25-28, 25-10, 26-24. Ariana Brown led Hilltop attacking 27/27with six kills, 4/4 passing with five digs and was 4/6 serving with one ace. Aubrey Wyse was 16/17 serving with three aces and also played well defensively with 16/18 attacks and three kills. Zoey Abner was 5/5 serving with three aces.

Delta is three set winner
over Emmanuel Christian
The Panthers had an easy time of it with the 25-9, 25-19, 25-14 non-league win. Mary Miller finished with three aces, 18 kills, six blocks and seven digs. Kinsey Finnen had two service aces, 22 kills and 18 digs. Emily Clifton had eight aces, 11 kills, one block and 26 digs. The assist leader was Addy Freeman with 33.

Fayette defeated North Central with scored of 25-14, 14-25, 25-15, 25-14.

Fayette bests North
Central in four sets
Fayette won the BBC battle with scores of 25-14, 14-25, 25-15, 25-15. North Central was led by Makayla Rizor who finished with 23 passes and eight digs. Makayla Hayes Had 25 attempts with 10 kills, Makayla Knapp had 10 assists and Alyssa Swank finished with 16 serves including four aces.

August 27th, 2016

North Central conquers
Fremont in three sets
The Eagles used scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-19 as they swept to victory. Addie Elder led with 14 serves and two aces as Mckayla Hayes added 18 passes, 25 hits and 10 kills and Makayla Knapp with 15 assists.

Fairview defeats Edon in three sets
The Bombers fell to the tough Fairview Apaches in a non-conference match with scores of 9-25, 21-25 and 19-25. Shaylee Manahan finished with six kills and eight digs while Hannah Kaylor contributed with four kills and five digs. Sara Hiller added two kills. Alyssa Maier had 13 assists, one kill and three digs.
