Vicki L. Lichtenwald

August 9, 2016No Comments2 Mins Read

Vicki LichtenwaldVicki Lynn Lichtenwald, 58, of Fayette, died August 8, 2016, at Genesis Bryan Center, where she resided the past several months. She was born February 11, 1958, to the late Douglas Leo and Irene (Kutzley) Lichtenwald.

A 1976 graduate of Fayette High School, Vicki trained as a phlebotomist and worked at various local hospitals for nearly 20 years. In her spare time, she loved to socialize by playing cards, listening to music or just talking with friends, and she was known by some as an affectionate giver of “sloppy kisses.” She adored her family, especially her grandkids, who were the “light of her life.” An avid sun-worshipper, Vicki enjoyed being in nature, whether planting flowers, camping, or spending time with her animals, especially her beloved miniature pinscher, Lola.

Surviving Vicki are her son, Geoffrey Drehobl (Jamie Smith) of Fayette; daughter, Rachel Farnham (Ryan Mumaw) of West Unity; two brothers, David (Becky) Lichtenwald and Ronald (Melody) Lichtenwald all of Fayette; two sisters, Kathy Amos and Karen (Curtis) Bentley all of Fayette; four grandchildren, Haven and Cassadie Sharp, Liam Stover and Brileigh Drehobl; and a sister-in-law, Ella Marie Lichtenwald of Archbold.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Allan Lichtenwald; nephew, Adam Lichtenwald; brother-in-law, Billy Amos; and step-father, Ed Figgins.

A memorial mass will be celebrated for Vicki on Saturday, August 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Fayette with Fr. Stephen Stanberry presiding. The family invites friends to join them for a luncheon immediately after mass in the fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Pleasant View Union Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial donations to Vicki’s family. Friends can share memories and words of comfort with the family online at www.eaglefuneralhomes.com.
