The North Central High School show choir sang Christmas carols to the crowd.

Pioneer area Seniors gathered at the Senior Center (Community Center) Tuesday December 11 at noon for their annual Christmas luncheon to enjoy a delicious meal, entertainment, and to win prizes. The event has been held for over 30 years now, and was originated by then-Mayor Bruce Kidston. Sponsors were the Village of Pioneer, and 17 area businesses.

Mayor Ed Kidston kicked off the event by welcoming the Seniors and drawing tickets for prizes. He recognized village officials and employees, sponsors, and Senior Center director Shanna Huffman. Members of North Centrals Future Teachers Club served the tasty meal, which was provided by the Williams County Department of Aging.

Pastor Steve Smith of Lakeview United Brethren Church offered the blessing on the meal.

Entertainment was provided by members of the center, and later, by the North Central High School’s show choir singing Christmas carols under the direction of Joe House.

All Seniors received gift certificates, much to their delight. If their smiling faces were any indication, everyone had a very good time.
