Virginia R. Karalis, 95, of Montpelier passed away Friday morning, July 23, 2021 at her home. She was born on October 24, 1925 to Frank and Victoria (Postek) Mielnicki.
Virginia graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit, Michigan. She was a supervisor of housekeeping and laundry at Hillside Nursing Home in rural Bryan, Ohio for approximately 15 years before retiring. Virginia was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier and was on the Altar Society.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Patti) Karalis of Montpelier; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Fred (Camille) Janeczko of Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Albert Karalis; brothers John, Walter, and Zigmund Mielnicki and sisters Casmira Hurdney and Irene Midtgard.
Visitation for Virginia will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10-11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00 am at the church with Father Fred Duschl to officiate. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.
