The Williams County Republican Party recently held their Lincoln Day Dinner on April 16th at the Montpelier Quality Inn. The dinner began with a VIP reception taking place at 5:30 and diner beginning at 7:00 p.m.
This event was exceptionally exciting for attendees as this year’s guest speakers have garnered serious attention.
Those guest speakers were none other than Vivek Ramaswamy and Senator Jon Husted.
Ramaswamy is currently in the running to be the next Governor of Ohio, since current Governor Mike DeWine has reached the maximum number of terms he can serve as governor. Ramaswamy had also previously run for President during the 2024 election.
Ultimately, Ramaswamy dropped out and teamed up with the Trump team. Following that team up, it has been reported that Ramaswamy decided to step away and focus on running for Governor.
Senator Jon Husted has also gotten some serious attention as of late. He had previously announced the nomination of JD Vance for the position of Vice President of the United States during last year’s Republic National Convention.
He was also more recently ascended to the position of U.S. Senator following JD Vance’s win as Vice President and has more recently received the endorsement of President Donald Trump for his position.
The event saw an excellent turnout with several other leaders present, including Senator Rob McColley and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose.
Ramaswamy also posted a video on his Facebook page showing him as he received a tour of the Dum Dums Factory in Bryan. In the video Ramaswamy takes samples one a Dum Dums suckers and exclaims “as good as I expected.”
