(October 18th, 2014)-LIBERTY CENTER: Fueled by the first place finish of Quintin Reiser, who ran a 15:15, the Wauseon Boy’s Cross Country team will be advancing to Division II Regionals meet.
Caleb Blanchong took fifth place for the Indians, clocking in at 17:07. Teammate Aaron Beck claimed seventeenth place at the event at 17:40, while Seth Hutchison finished in twenty-second by turning in a 17:59. Kyle Vernot wrapped up the scoring for Wauseon, earning twenty-eighth place with an 18:15.
Meanwhile, it was Taylor Vernot who gave the Lady Indians a first place finisher, thanks to her time of 18:55. Aleea and Aneesa Volkman, both Indians, took fourth and fifth place, respectively, as the former ran a 19:54 and the latter a 20:07. Seneca Wyse finished in thirteenth place at 20:53, and Amanda Stutzman in eighteenth at 21:33 to close out Wauseon scoring, and allowing the Lady Indians to advance to Regionals as well.
In the Division III boys race, Fayette earned a spot at Regionals. Powered by the performances of Skylar Lantz, who completed the course in 16:28, and Christian Suarez, with a fifth place finish at 17:01, the Eagles excelled against the large field. Teammate Dylan Stannard took nineteenth place of Fayette, running a 17:35, while Jared Wagner earned twenty-third at 17:40. Austin Lopez also factored into the Fayette total at thirty-first place and a time of17:48.
Pettisville’s Kyle Lantz, with a sixth place finish at 17:04, ran well enough to move on to Regionals as an individual. The next Blackbird to cross the finish line was senior Jacob Hauter at 17:57.
Lady Blackbird Alexa Leppelmeier, clocking in at 20:01 for a fourth place finish, will be going to Regionals as an individual as well. Pettisville teammate Nichole Foor will join her, as her time of 20:18 was good for ninth place.
Jacqueline Carlson, of Montpelier, will also be going to the Regional meet, thanks to a thirteenth place finish at 20:40. Fellow Locos Jessica Earle and Haley Suffel ran a 28:21 and 29:02, respectively.
Montpelier’s boys were led by Michael Blake, who ran a personal best time of 17:43 to claim twenty-eighth place. Jared Rediger was less than thirty seconds behind his teammate, finishing the course in 18:10.
Jerry Braun gave Edon a thirtieth place finish, running a 17:47. The next Bomber to cross the line, Coy Dunkle turned in an 18:25.
For Hilltop, RyLee McCain finished the race at 19:36. Meanwhile, fellow Cadet Ben Routhier ran a 20:01.
Paced by Zach Turner, who ran a 20:43, North Central struggled a bit at the event. Next to finish for the Eagles was Adam Knepper at 21:20.
Israel Aguilar turned in a time of 20:47 to lead Stryker. Hunter Lilleholm and Trevin Rhoades each ran a 20:58 for the Panthers, with the former crossing the finish line just before the latter.
For the Lady Cadets, Landrey Brown laid claim to twenty-second place, running a 21:16. Kara Brown completed the course in 21:43 for Hilltop as well.
Emilie Keiser gave Fayette their top finish with a 22:00 flat. The Next Lady Eagle to cross the line was Liz Maginn at 24:20.
Pacing the Lady Panthers, Megan Graber ran a 22:27 for Stryker. Shi’Anna Whitman wasn’t far behind her teammate, clocking in at 22:34.
Edon’s Brenda Harrington ran a 22:55, their top time of the day. Cameron Lord provided a 23:38 for the Bombers as well.
