DEFIANCE: May 23 – The Wauseon Indians boys and girls track teams brought home the top hardware from the Division II District Track and Field Meet at Defiance.

The Wauseon girls won the top honor scoring 119 points to runner up Ottawa-Glandorf’s 100.50.

In a bit of a surprising finish, the Wauseon boys tied for the district title along with Ottawa-Glandorf with 84 points.

Noah Castle and Kris Boysel were double district champions for the Indians. Castle won his specialty the discus by 30′ and captured the shot put title. Boysel leaped his way to two wins in the long jump and high jump.

The 18 Wauseon qualifiers will travel to the University of Dayton’s Welcome Stadium May 29 to compete for a chance to qualify for the State Track and Field Meet held at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Track on June 6 and 7.
