West Unity Omnibus Club Hears From Police Chief J.R. Jones

October 13, 2022No Comments2 Mins Read

The West Unity Omnibus Club met in the home of Mary McCrea the afternoon of October 10. President Linda Sumner opened the meeting and introduced speaker J.R. Jones (pictured), Police Chief of West Unity.

His subject dealt with drugs:  the difference between hemp and marijuana, updates on laws on these drugs and how the cases are handled by his police officers.

He advised everyone to wear toss away gloves when picking up trash that ends up in your yard.

West Unity has been very blessed to have J. R. for the past 20 years. His department has solved many cases and are very involved.

Members repeated the Pledge of Allegiance and the Club Collect. Roll call was answered with the members telling if they ever had a driving ticket?  Some answers were quite funny.

During the business meeting further plans were discussed for the 33rd annual Christmas House Walk & Craft Show at the Kissell building on December 3.

Registration is now open to local crafters. To reserve a space contact Ruth Grimm at 419-924-5238.

House Walk tickets for the three houses will be $6.00. The Holly Jolly Christmas store will have flyers and presale tickets.

Come and visit the town of West Unity, “A Christmas Town”  and purchase your house walk tickets early.

Refreshments were served by Mary McCrea and Cheryl Boldman.
