William F. Stewart, 87 years, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan.

Bill was born March 4, 1931 in Warren, Ohio the son of the late Roby and Geneva (Manavel) Stewart.  Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. serving during the Korean Conflict.

He married Billie M. Carter on January 22, 1954 in Conway, South Carolina, and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2017.  Bill worked for the Bard Manufacturing as a Production Foreman, retiring in 1993.  Prior to this, Bill worked for Hayes-Albion as a Production Supervisor.

Bill was a member of the Bryan Alliance Church, Stryker American Legion Post 60, Bryan Masonic Lodge #215 F. & A.M. and the Marine Corps League as a Member at Large as well as the 1st Marine Division Association as a Member at Large.  He enjoyed woodworking and traveling with his wife, Billie.  He treasured the time he was able to spend with his family.


Surviving are his two children, Tracey M. (Gary) Stumpp of Bridgewater, Connecticut and Glenn E. Stewart of Defiance; one sister, Helen Morris of Smithfield, North Carolina; one brother, James (Barbara) Stewart of Maumee, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Billie and one son, Jeffrey A. Stewart.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Bryan Alliance Church, 220 West Fountain Grove Drive, Bryan, Ohio, 43506.
