A recent site visit with the Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Williams County Commissioners highlighted ongoing progress on the expansion of the Board’s building. The visit gave the Commissioners a chance to review construction updates, tour the facility, and discuss available services.
Superintendent Andrea Hammond explained that construction is currently behind its original timeline due to part delays. The project had initially been scheduled for completion in December 2025, but she estimated that they have five months left on the project.

“Most of the delays were due to the new construction of the project,” Hammond explained.
While typical public interaction is reduced due to the ongoing construction, the Board of DD still sees 10 to 15 people a day. Locals are still able to access all services offered and set up meetings on an as-needed basis.
The project includes both an addition to the existing building and renovations to current structures. During the visit, the Commissioners participated in a walkthrough of the building and grounds.
“One area that we are excited about is that the family restroom will have an adult universal changing table.
“So, when adults, or anyone older than a toddler, come in and have a meeting, they now have a respectable place to be changed if they need to utilize the restroom,” Hammond stated.
The new construction will include a new receptionist space as well as a revamped main entrance.
An educational discussion was held with Hammond, Director of Early Childhood Services Dennis Myers, Director of Community Services Lindsay Ames, and Director of Business Nicki Rigleman. They presented an overview of the services they offer as well as the projected financials for the next four years.
The Board of Developmental Disabilities is looking forward to business continuing as normal once its expansion project is completed.
