During a recent Williams County Commissioners meeting, held on June 25th, board members received a detailed presentation regarding the upcoming renovation of the North Annex building.

While no formal action was taken, the session served as an opportunity for open discussion between the Commissioners and design team overseeing the project.

Representatives from Garmann Miller, the architecture and design firm contracted for the renovation, walked commissioners through several updated plans and proposed design choices.

The conversation touched on a wide range of interior and infrastructure components, including layout revisions, paint colors, flooring options, and general finish selections meant to complement the existing style of the building.

In addition to aesthetics, the team reviewed critical structural and mechanical considerations such as plumbing configurations, the addition of a maintenance bay, fire protection measures, and upgrades to the temperature control and air handling systems. Electrical line placement and efficiency were also discussed.

Commissioners expressed a strong interest in sourcing local vendors for supplies and contracting work wherever feasible. As a cost-saving and preservation measure, the current furniture in the building will remain in place, and interior elements will be matched to maintain a cohesive look.

Though the conversation was preliminary, the meeting paid important groundwork for the project’s next steps, with further developments and decisions expected in the coming months.
