The Thursday morning, October 13, 2022 regular session was short for the Williams County Commissioners with the following items approved:
- Resolution 261 Supplemental Appropriations
- Resolution 262 Entering into a Master Software Service Agreement
- also signed: credit card appropriations for treasurer for month of November.
- minutes of October 6, 2022 and payment of bills
With no further business, they went into a short recess to sign bills and back in regular session they accepted the updated credit card appropriation on behalf of the prosecutor’s office for the month of October.
A motion was made to go into executive session to discuss compensation with county engineer Todd Roth, with Bart Westfall remaining to attend.
They came out of executive session just shy of an hour later with no action and with nothing else for the board adjourned.
Later that morning, around 11 a.m. Commissioner Lew Hilkert and incoming Commissioner Bart Westfall joined other elected officials and the vendors present for the Rainbow of Wellness event to serve lunch to those in attendance.
The event was held at the Veterans Memorial Building in Montpelier and ran from 8:45 to 1:00.
Special speakers sheriff Tom Kochert, Maumee Valley Guidance Center Director Karen Von Deylen and WBCL Magician Jim Barron were mixed in throughout the event, along with Master of Ceremonies Mark Pitman Executive Director of Community Pregnancy Centers, and free time to check out the vendor’s booths.
During lunch the guests were treated to some music by Locomotion, a choir from Montpelier schools.
Door prizes that had been donated by local businesses were given out throughout the event.
The commissioners visited over lunch with the seniors who were there to learn more about how to live in this time of a “new normal.”
