The Williams Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) held its annual Open House and Election at the Williams SWCD office in Bryan. Everyone enjoyed refreshments and catching up with others who share their interest in conservation.

Congratulations to Jim Herman and Scott C. Oberlin who were re-elected to the Williams SWCD’s Board of Supervisors. Jim and Scott will fill a three-year term starting January 1, 2017, and ending December 31, 2019. Also running was Paul Briner and Matthew Slabaugh. We would like to thank Paul and Matthew for their willingness to serve the citizens of Williams County.

The Board of Supervisors are duly elected county officials serving voluntarily (without pay) for the cause of conservation of our county’s natural resources. They set the priorities of the Soil and Water Conservation District and direct the staff to accomplish the goals that are set.

The 2016 Outstanding Cooperator Award was given to the Planson Farm for the conservation practices Steve Planson and his family have placed on their land and for their dedication to conservation.
