BOYS BASKETBALL

Fayette 44 Montpelier 27

MONTPELIER – Elijah Lerma knocked down three triples for Fayette (4-1, 1-0 BBC) and led all scorers with 25 points in a 44-27 win at Montpelier. Garret Walz was the lone Loco (1-4, 0-1 BBC) to reach double figures with 11.

JV SCORE: Montpelier, 48-16

Pettisville 60 Hilltop 27

WEST UNITY – Cayden Jacoby posted a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds as Pettisville started defense of their league title by trouncing Hilltop (1-4, 0-1 BBC) 60-27.

Jaret Beck added 16 points for Pettisville (3-2, 1-0 BBC) who shot 47% from the floor and outrebounded the Cadets 36-13. Brock Kesler topped the scoring column for Hilltop with nine points.

JV SCORE: Hilltop, 36-31

North Central 53 Stryker 51

STRYKER – Zach Hayes gave the Eagles their first lead of the night with a driving layup with 7.5 seconds to go as North Central (3-1, 1-0 BBC) battled from behind to get a 53-51 win. Hayes ended the night with nine buckets and five foul shots for a game-high 23 points.

Joey Burt had 15 and Ben Petit added 10 for the Eagles who outscored Stryker 10-1 in the fourth quarter.

Elijah Juillard paced three players in double figures for Stryker (2-4, 0-1 BBC) with 13, Teyvon Harris had 11, and Levi Barnum tallied 10.

JV SCORE: North Central, 48-29

Edon 48 Holgate 31

HOLGATE – After shutting out Holgate (1-5, 0-1 BBC) in the first quarter, Edon (2-0, 1-0 BBC) used a 22-13 second quarter to take control in a 48-31 win over the newest member of the BBC. Carter Kiess led Edon with 11 points (all in the 2nd quarter) and Jack Berry added 10.

Ottawa Hills 51 Delta 16

OTTAWA HILLS – The Green Bears improved to 3-1 on the season after a 51-16 win over Delta (2-3). No stats were reported.

ANTWERP – Astianna Coppes had a game-high 16 points as the Archers (5-2, 1-0 GMC) raced to a 19-2 lead after one quarter in a win in their GMC opener. Taylor Smith led Egerton (1-7, 0-1 GMC) with six points.
