A graveside service was held at Farmer Cemetery on Saturday June 10 for family and friends to mourn the scientific confirmation of the death of Douglas Lynn Streeter of Bryan, Ohio.

Streeter’s skeletal remains, found in 1976 off of highway #827 near the Talisman Farms area, were identified in 2023 through the use of DNA technology by the Palm Beach County Police Department in Florida.

In March of 1976, Douglas “Strut” Streeter, then 29, traveled with a group of friends to Spanish Oaks Apartments in Boca Raton before never returning home.

It is advised that he had ties to the areas surrounding: Bryan, Ohio; Boca Raton, Florida; and North Adams, Michigan.

Douglas was born on September 7, 1946 to Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Mary (Mavis) Streeter of Bryan. Since he went missing, he has been joined in death by his parents and brother, Ed Streeter.

His half-siblings call the community home still today with sister Linda Whitney residing in Edgerton and brother Steve Reader in Bryan.

Anyone with information relating to the murder of Douglas Streeter should contact Crime Stoppers at: 1 (800) 458-8477 or Detective John Cogburn via: (561) 688-4063 or cogburnj@pbso.org .
