Esther L. Lanius, age 85, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 1:20 A.M. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Genesis Healthcare-Bryan Center. Mrs. Lanius was the long time secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church. Esther was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Jolly Homemakers

Esther was born on October 20, 1932 in Adams Township, Michigan, the daughter of Ray A. and Louise C. (Baerlin) Foust. She married Doyle F. “Pete” Lanius on November 29, 1957, in Hillsdale, Michigan and he preceded her in death.

Esther is survived by her daughters, Diana (Rodney) Missler, of Bryan, Lana Neil Haughn) Kelley, of Bryan; son, Franklin (Pam) Lanius, of Bryan; six grandchildren, Amy (Nathan Dhaenens) Missler, Anthony (Karie Lefler) Missler, Caitlin & Jacqueline Kelley, Alyssa (Dean) Lee and Danny (Charlotte) Humbarger; great grandchildren, Eli Kelley and Emberlea Missler; sister, Marie (Jim) Boley and sister-in-law, Priscilla Foust, both of Hillsdale, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Millard, Lorell,Charles,Paul and Robert Foust and sister, Naomi Abram.

Visitation for Mrs. Lanius will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. A memorial service will be held at 11: 00 A.M. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Esther will be laid to rest at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
