Harold Lloyd Elliott, age 92, of Arlington, Texas, and formerly of Delta, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 18, 2018 while residing at his daughter’s home.
Harold was born in Kensett, AK on August 13, 1926 to Guy & Mattie (Goode) Elliott. He married Gladys Swartzlander in 1946 and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2000. A WW II Veteran, Harold served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS McNair—DD 679 and the USS Tangier. He served with the 3rd Fleet Task Force 38 in the Pacific Ocean and also saw duty in the Philippine Isles, the Aleutians, Okinawa, main land of Japan and the initial occupation of Japan. He was a member of the Delta American Legion Post #373.
During his civilian life he worked as a superintendent for GenCorp Manufacturing. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Ann (Brian) Morr of Arlington, TX; Jillian-Elliott (Timothy) George of North Olmsted, OH. Arrangements are pending with Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta.
