STRYKER: April 28– The Edon Bombers took to the road on April 28 to take on the Stryker Panthers in BBC action, dropping a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Stryker off of a walk-off single in the bottom of the 7th to the Panther’s Parker Ruffer. Edon led 3-1 when Stryker came to bat in the final inning, but could not hold on as Stryker took the game to move to 6-1 atop the BBC and 7-7 on the season.
Parker Ruffer went the distance on the mound and also had a big day at the plate to help earn the win, allowing just 3 earned runs and striking out 11 Bombers on the afternoon while going 2 for 4 from the batter’s box and driving in the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the seventh to bring the winning run across the plate.
Also for the Panthers in the victory, Brody Shock went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s including 1 in the crucial 7th inning; Dean Beamont went 1 for 3 with an RBI and 1 run scored. Zach Tingley and Colton Benson also had singles in the win.
For the Bombers, River Wicker took the loss, allowing only 1 earned run and fanning 13 batters. Wicker also gave up 3 walks in the setback for Edon.
Conner Hug had the big bat for Edon on the game, connecting 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s. Trevor Green also went 2 for 4 while Brock Thiel, Jacob Brown and Kaden Sapp rounded out the Bomber’s offensive effort on the day with hits in the loss.
The loss drops Edon to 4-3 in the BBC and 8-5 overall on the year.
