Hilltop Cadets Host Double Header With NWOAL Liberty Center; GMC Tinora

WEST UNITY: may 3, 2014– The Hilltop Cadets hosted a double header on may 3 at home, entertaining the Liberty Center Tigers from the NWOAL and the Tinora Rams from the GMC.  Hilltop dropped the 1st game to the Tigers 12-2 and fell in game 2 to Tinora 9-1.  With the setbacks, Hilltop falls to 4-14 on the year while remaining at 3-4 in the BBC.

 

 

Game #1

 

Jalen Towers took to the mound in game 1, allowing 12 hits and 5 earned runs on the morning, while striking out 2 batters.  The cadets committed 7 errors defensively in the game.

Offensively for the Cadets, Quinn Smith went 2 for 4 on the game; Justin Ashenfelter also had a good day at the plate going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Isaac VanArsdalen and Dallas Timberman also recorded hits in the Hilltop loss.

Game #2

 

Nic Schieber took the mound in game 2 against the powerful Tinora Rams and allowed 10 hits on the game with 5 earned runs. Schieber also advanced 7 runners on base by walk in the loss.

Offensively, Hilltop recorded just 5 hits on the game with Justin Ashenfelter going 2 for 3.  Schieber connected for a solo over the fence shot in the 6th inning for the Cadets while Quinn Smith and Justin Grapengeter also recorded its in the setback.
