Edgerton Man Among Seventeen Indicted By Williams County Grand Jury

The Williams County Grand Jury convened on Tuesday, October 27, and returned indictments against seventeen individuals facing a total of forty-nine charges.

Sixteen of the charges were filed against Jarrod M. Powell, 40, of Edgerton, who is facing charges on ten counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, all second-degree felonies, and six counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, also all second-degree felonies.  Court records indicate that the charges stem from incidents occurring on or about March 3 that involved the reproduction of distribution of material portraying a minor engaged in sexual activity or as witness to sexual activity.

Additionally indicted were:

Brooke E. Champada, 39, of Bryan was indicted for possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Champada is accused of possessing or using Xanax on or about September 2, after having previously been convicted of a previous drug charge.

Dylan R. Ebersole, 19, of Bryan was indicted for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.  Ebersole is accused of breaking a glass smoking device that was to be seized as evidence on or about October 11, 2020.

Kyle D. Eichler, 22, of Adrian, Michigan was indicted on three counts, including one count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; felonious assault, a first-degree felony; and vehicular vandalism, a fourth-degree felony. The charges stem from an incident occurring on or about September 20, when Eichler is accused of failing to comply with the order of an officer as well as throwing a metal pipe at the vehicle and person of Williams County Sheriff Deputy Paul McCord.

Cody D. Foster, 27, of West Unity was indicted on a total of three charges including aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; grand theft, also a first-degree felony; and having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony.  The charges stem from an incident occurring on our about August 9, when it is alleged that Foster, who had previously been adjudicated of a crime making him ineligible to carry a firearm, brandished a stolen firearm while committing a theft offense.

Robert D. Foster, 34, of Hillsdale, Michigan was indicted on a total of three charges including one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; one count of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drug of abuse, a first-degree misdemeanor; and one count of endangering children, also a first-degree misdemeanor.  The charges stem from an incident occurring on or about October 3, 2020, when Foster, who is accused of driving while under the influence with a child in the car, failed to stop as signaled by a police officer.

Hezekiah W. Hall, 19, of Tecumseh, Michigan was indicted on a total of three charges including one charge of complicity to failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; one count of complicity to felonious assault, a first-degree felony; and one count of complicity to vehicular vandalism, a fourth-degree felony.  The charges follow an incident occurring on or about September 24, when it is alleged that Huntington aided and abetted Kyle D. Eichler and Cheyenne L. Huntingon in committing felonious assault by throwing a metal pipe at the vehicle and person of Williams County Sheriff Deputy Paul McCord.  Huntington is additionally accused of aiding Eichler in his failure to comply with an order given by an officer.

Cheyenne L. Huntington, 20, of Hillsdale, Michigan was indicted on a total of three charges including one charge of complicity to failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; one count of complicity to felonious assault, a first-degree felony; and one count of complicity to vehicular vandalism, a fourth-degree felony.  The charges follow an incident occurring on or about September 24, when it is alleged that Huntington aided and abetted Kyle D. Eichler and Hezekiah W. Hall in committing felonious assault by throwing a metal pipe at the vehicle and person of Williams County Sheriff Deputy Paul McCord.  Huntington is additionally accused of aiding Eichler in his failure to comply with an order given by an officer.

Rebekah L. Hutchison, 34, of Bryan was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony.  Hutchison is accused of possessing or using methamphetamine on or about June 12, 2020.

Jessica A. Northrup, 33, of Montpelier was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Northrup is accused of possessing or using methamphetamine on or about March 11, 2020.

Raymond J. Poole, 35, of West Unity was indicted for domestic violence, a third-degree felony.  Poole is accused of causing or attempting cause physical harm to a family or household member on or about October 8, after having previously been convicted of two or more domestic violence charges.

Roel Raya Jr., 38, of Defiance was indicted for illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony.  Raya is accused of conveying marijuana onto the grounds of the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on or about May 13, 2020.

Michael S. Royal, 22, of Angola, Indiana was indicted for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, following an incident occurring on or about October 12, when Royal is accused of failing to stop a motor vehicle upon the command of an officer.

Christopher A. Smith, 26, of Bryan was indicted on one count of rape, a first-degree felony; one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony; and one count of domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor.  Smith is accused of forcing another, who was a family or household member, to engage in sexual conduct through the means of causing physical harm on or about September 22, 2020.

Colton M. Stiltner, 27, of Bryan was indicted on a total of three counts including one count of burglary, a second-degree felony; one count of violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony; and one count of menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony.  The burglary and violating a protection order charges are in relation to an incident occurring on or about October 8, which Stiltner is accused using stealth or deception in order to enter the Williams County Pleas Courthouse for the purpose of violating a protection order put in place by the Bryan Municipal Court.  The menacing charge is in relation to an incident occurring on or about July 5, when Stiltner is accused of trespassing on the land or premise of another in an attempt to cause mental distress to that person.

Michael H. Studer, 30, homeless, was indicted on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, each a fifth-degree felony.  Studer is accused of possessing or using methamphetamine and fentanyl on or about October 20, 2020.

Jason D. Zuber, 39, of Montpelier was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Zuber is accused of possessing or using methamphetamine on or about July 22, 2020.

It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation and that all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
