BRYAN, OHIO-Wauseon totaled 337 yards of offense as they wrapped up their 2020 season with a 22-18 win at Bryan. The Golden Bears got on the board quickly as backup quarterback AJ Martinez tossed an eight-yard scoring strike to Titus Rohrer to give Bryan a 6-0 lead after the missed extra point.

The Indians scored their first points of the night with 5:46 left in the first quarter to grab a 7-6 lead on a seven-yard touchdown run by Wauseon quarterback Connar Penrod. Wauseon extended their lead to 13-6 after a 11-yard touchdown run by Tyson Britsch with :50 left in the first half. Bryan responded though with a long kickoff return by Caleb Kepler which set up a 25-yard scoring pass from Martinez to Sam Herold to cut the Wauseon lead to 13-12 at halftime.

After stopping Wauseon on a fourth and goal from inside the five-yard line, Bryan running back Korbin Shephard was tackled in the end zone by Isaac Wilson for a safety to make it 15-12 Wauseon. Wauseon would find the endzone again at the 4:44 mark of the third quarter with Bryson Stump punching it in from five yards out to make it 22-12.

Bryan kept the pressure on the Indians though as Martinez found Decota Shaw for an 18-yard touchdown pass to close the deficit to 22-18 in the fourth quarter. Bryan had one last chance, but Martinez was intercepted, the fifth Bryan turnover of the game, and Wauseon was able to run out the clock.

The Wauseon running game accounted for 193 yards led by 106 yards from Britsch and Stump had 51 yards rushing. Penrod went 12/28 passing for 144 yards with Jonas Tester catching six passes for 73 yards. Martinez ended the night, for the Golden Bears 14/23 for 171 yards and three touchdowns, Shepherd rushed for 76 yards on 16 carries, and Kepler led the receivers with seven receptions for 77 yards.
