On January 4, 2021, Lyons Village Council met for the first meeting of 2021, choosing to re-elect Julie Fenicle as Council President. Matt Gilroy was present to answer any questions about the CRA Tax Abatement.

Council had a second reading and voted to approve the abatement as well as Resolution 21-1 to approve temporary appropriations. Also approved were the minutes of the December meeting and reading of December bills.

In reports, council learned that a tree on Lincoln street was taken down; the village had to spend $6,241 to repair two catch basins; there were sixteen one day notices sent out for water shut offs; and December water usage was 1,927,000 gallons.

Council gave a special thank you to everyone who took time to decorate a tree at the park for Christmas. The next meeting is scheduled for February 1, 2021.
