DELTA, OHIO-A combination of precision three-point shooting and tenacious defense were the catalyst for Bryan in an impressive 51-31 at Delta. The Lady Bears were 9/18 from beyond the arc and forced 19 turnovers by Delta as they took sole possession of first place in the NWOAL with the win.

Bryan started the barrage of triples in the opening quarter as Addie Arnold hit three and Allie Zimmerman added one to give Bryan a 14-8 after the first quarter.

Bryan was 5/11 from the field in the first quarter with four of their makes coming from deep. Delta went 3/7 but was hampered by six turnovers.

The Bears extended the lead in the second quarter as Arnold knocked down two more treys and added a foul line jumper to make it 24-12 with 2:46 to go in the first half.

Following a Delta timeout, Delilah Taylor scored the last five points of the half for Bryan as she hit a three-pointer and a layup to make it 29-14 Bryan at the break.

In the opening half Bryan was 11/27 from the floor, seven of them three-pointers, while holding the Panthers to 5/16 shooting turning Delta over 11 times.

Brooklyn Wymer started the second half with a bucket for Delta before Bryan’s McKendry Semer took over.

Semer, after being held scoreless in the first half, would put up five straight points and after a steal and layup from Brooke Lamberson the Bryan lead was now 36-16 with 5:39 left in the third. The Bears closed the quarter with a bucket from Shallyn Miley and then a conventional three-point play by Semer to make the lead 41-23 going to the fourth quarter.

Bryan quickly put any thoughts of a Delta rally to bed as Arnold and Lamberson knocked down triples to start the quarter and give Bryan their largest lead of the night at 47-23.

For the game, Bryan (11-2, 3-0 in NWOAL) was 18/44 for 40% overall from the field while Delta (8-4, 2-1) went 12/27 (44%) and was 4/10 from three-point range.

Arnold finished the night with a game high 22 points, 17 of those in the first half. Brooklyn Green led Delta with 10 points.
