Edwin Greek (1953-2021)

Edwin D. Greek, 67 years, of Alvordton, Ohio, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, and Pioneer, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Hillside Country Living, Bryan. Edwin was born March 8, 1953, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph Edward and Betty (Kintner) Greek. He was a 1972 graduate of North Central High School.

Edwin was an Army veteran, serving from 1973 until his discharge in 1976. He was a machine operator for Kustom Fit in Pioneer. He also worked at Coy’s Gas Station at Exit 2 on the Turnpike. He was a former member of Clay United Methodist Church, until it closed. He then attended the Alvordton United Brethren Church.

He was a member of the Pioneer American Legion Post 307.  Edwin enjoyed being in nature, going for walks, greeting everyone with a smile and a warm greeting. He was known for his kind heart. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is his daughter, Leslie (Orin) Prosser, Jr., of Alvordton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Danielle (Josh Wyse) Prosser of Archbold, Ohio and Orin Prosser, III. of Archbold, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Kaydence Prosser, Naomi Wyse and Wyatt Wyse; two brothers, Richard (Linda) Greek of Camden, Michigan and Raymond Greek of Edgerton, Ohio; one sister, Connie (Randy) Stadtfeld of Carpentersville, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Due to COVID-19 pandenic, all visitation and services will be private for the family with Pastor Nick Woodall officiating. Interment will be made in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the West Unity American Legion Post 669.


Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home West Unity Chapel. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the Returning American Warriors.
