High Five To Thrive In Montpelier

MORNING HIGH FIVE TO THRIVE … Around 10 a.m. at the Montpelier Elementary School entrance, a large group of excited elementary students poured out the doors to participate in giving High Five to Thrive awards to some area “Heroes.”Mr. Chad Tinkel, CEO of Community Hospitals of Williams County, accepted the beautifully colored High 5 Hands from students as they lined up and passed them to him, telling him Thank you for all the hospital has done to get our communities through this pandemic. MONTPELIER MASCOT BOOMER … The president of the Montpelier Civic League was incognito that morning, but three other ladies were present to accept the High 5 to Thrive awards as representatives of the Montpelier Civic League. Montpelier School Resource Officer and MCL member Stephanie Mills, MCL representative Erin McGee and MCL member and MHS 9-12 Intervention Specialist Jodi Grime posed proudly with Boomer. The “heroes” were presented with a beautiful M to hang on a wall, and had some kind words spoken about them and all that they do for their community, by 3rd grade teacher Megan Lamberson.

LT. GOVERNOR HIGH FIVE … Jon Husted, a native of Montpelier and Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, arrived at the old Superior Elementary School on St. Rt. 576, a little after noon on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was greeted for the first part of his visit that day, by four Montpelier Elementary students, their principals and one of their teachers. From left to right are MES Principal Lance Thorp, Assistant MES Principal Mike Bumb, 5th grader Zaviour Richmire, 4th grader Cody Green, 3rd graders Libbey Brigle and Grace Saneholtz, Lt. Gov. Husted and 3rd grade teacher Megan Lamberson. The students presented Mr. Husted with High Fives that were colored by 6th graders and Ms Lamberson read a thank you message to him before presenting him with a large M and a Montpelier school tee shirt.
