Montpelier And Edon Hold Their Own In Tri-Meet

September 2nd-MONTPELIER: Though Hicksville was the only team with enough members to officially score, junior high runners from Montpelier and Edon showed they could compete at a tri-meet held at the Superior Athletics Complex.

In the boys heat, the Locomotives received second, fourth, and sixth place finishes from runners Matthew McClaine, Gage Crisenbery, and Daniel Banks. McClaine completed the race in 11:44, Crisenbery in 13:32, and Banks in 13:54.

Clayton Casebere took seventh place for Edon, running a 14:08. Teammate Clayton Fitch finished at 16:36.

In the girls heat, Lydia Grime brought fourth place to Montpelier with her time of 13:55. Brinn Miller claimed sixth place, running a 14:17. Gabby Cox crossed the finish line at 14:54, and Kimme Engels at 15:19 for the Lady Locos.

Wendy Braun was the lone runner for Edon, finishing in fifth place with a time of 14:02.
