The Swanton Village Council held their meeting on Monday August 9th. The meeting was called to order at 7:14pm followed by a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council first made a motion to approve the minutes from the July 19th meeting which passed.

Council then moved to committee reports with council member Pilliod discussing pool and sewer credits. He stated that an amendment may need to be done regarding that and storm water charges.

A motion was made to charge Fortmeyer Farms a surcharge fee of $294.50 a month for sewer separation which passed.

Another motion was made to give approval for the Village Administrator to work on grants for the Ohio Department of Development for Water and Wastewater infrastructure, which passed.

In old business, council then heard the second reading of Ordinance 2003-48 regarding the establishment and description for the boundaries of a community reinvestment area in the village and the designation of a housing officer to administer the program and the creation of a community reinvestment housing council and tax incentives review council.

In new business, council heard the first reading for a resolution to give the Village Administrator authorization to submit an application to participate in the Ohio Department of Development Water and Wastewater infrastructure grant program and to enter into any agreement as required. A motion was made to approve the resolution which passed.

Council then proceeded to hear a report from the Village Administrator. The planning commission did not meet in August due to there being nothing on their agenda.

The tree commission is set to meet on Monday August 16th. Nine water shut offs were conducted this month. Work is being done regarding the drainage at memorial park and the survey has been completed.

There were 190 responses to the survey with people voicing their opinion on what they would like to see at the playground.

A mini redesign for the website has been completed but a few things still need to be done. Council then moved to adjourn.
