The Fayette Village Council held their meeting on Wednesday, September 22nd. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. followed by a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call then took place with council member Rodney Kessler absent.

Council then moved to approve the agenda with an addition made, as well as the minutes from the meeting that took place on September 9th.

Council also approved the minutes from the safety meeting and governmental affairs meeting that took place on September 15th.

With no visitors present, council moved on to the mayor’s report. Mayor Borer let everyone know that the history center is doing a tour of the cemetery.

The tour was supposed to take place on Thursday that week but has been postponed until next week due to the rain. A young couple has started an attraction called T22 farms. It is located east of County Road 22 and they will be holding a first responder appreciation day on October 2nd.

With no administrators report, council moved on to hear the VFO’s report. A new bill list has been printed. With there being a three-week gap between this meeting and the next meeting, the idea is to pay more bills now in order to not have to catch up at the next meeting.

Resolution 2021-04 was added to the agenda. This resolution is done every year and is done to authorize tax levies. A motion was then made to accept the VFO’s report as well as to pay the bills.

Council then moved to approve the First Reading of Resolution 2021-04 to accept the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor.

A motion was made to suspend the rules which was approved followed by a motion to approve the resolution which was also approved. With no legislative actions, new business or old business, council moved to adjourn at 6:14 p.m.
