FINDLAY – After a record setting season that saw the Wauseon Indians golf team set numerous records, including wins in a season and their third consecutive NWOAL championship, hopes were high for a trip to Columbus heading into the OHSAA Division II Boys District Golf Tournament held at Red Hawk Run Country Club on October 2nd. Unfortunately for the Indians the golf course outside of Findlay was where their dreams of competing at the State Golf Tournament came to an end.
Wauseon’s golfers battled admirably to the finish, but were unable to secure a spot among the top two in the nine team field. The Indians finished 7th overall with a score of 353.
Senior Trevor Dominique completed his storied high school career with a fine score of 78 to finish 6th overall in the field of 109 golfers and land a spot on the All District Tournament Team. Junior Brady Rupp enjoyed a good day as well ending 19th overall after shooting an 86. David Williams closed the book on his high school golf story with a 92, while Noah Stickley and Tyler Clausen posted scores of 97 and 101 respectively on the very challenging Red Hawk Run course.
Wauseon concludes their season having established a new standard for wins with an overall record of 103-14. Congratulations to the Indians on an outstanding year!
