STRYKER SCHOOL BOARD: Board Accepts Two Monetary Donations For Post Prom

The Stryker Board of Education met for the April 18, 2022 meeting, approving the following:

-Agenda for the meeting

-Minutes for March 21 meeting

-Financial report: general fund cash balance of $9,465,178.29; total revenue of $1,571,088.91; and total expenses of $500,476.25

-Donations: $200 for FFA from Richard Johnson; $100 for post prom from Oberlin Farms; and $500 for post prom from Fraternal Order of Eagles

-Amendment to the appropriations

Dean of Students, Beth Mohr, shared that All ELA State tests are finished; Math and Science State tests will take place over the next two weeks; field trips are coming up; April 28-29 Kindergarten Screening; May 1 Art Show and 4-6 grade band and choir; May 5 & 6 Camp Palmer; May 12 – 5th and 6th grade Battle of the Classes; May 9 – 13th Summer Reading Kickoff week “Oceans of Possibilities”; Book Fair; May 10 Muffins for Moms for Kindergarten; May 13 Family Fun Night with Oceans of Fun for theme; and May 17 Donuts with Dads for Kindergarten.

In his report, Principal Dave Schultz informed the board: March Students of the Month was Logan Stuckey with Sponsor Lori Moore with Vision Photography and the Core Value of Respect; April 23 was Jr./Sr. Prom at NWOESC with intros starting at 6; April 27 WC Mock Cras at 9:30 at Montpelier Fairgrounds; April 29 Karuna House final visit for the year; May 1 Festival of the Arts JH/HS 2-4:30; May 4 Academic Awards Night starts at 4:30 with hors d’oeuvres and awards on state at 5:30; and May 5 Grades 9-12 Mud Hens PBIS award trip.

The Board approved the following Superintendent Personnel Recommendations:

-Employment contracts and adjustments for all certified and classified personnel, beginning with the 22-23 school year

-Classified/certified substitutes and volunteers

-Supplemental contracts for the 22-23 school year, contingent upon viable season starts and school related openings/closings and participation levels

Other Superintendent recommendations that were approved included: Class of 2022 for Graduation on May 22, 2022 contingent on meeting all current and modified state and local requirements as presented; Overnight extended trip for FFA to attend the National FFA Convention on May 5 and 6 in Columbus; 22-23 school year Faculty, HS/JH and Elem. Student and Coach Handbooks; and NWOESC agreement for 22-23 services.

The next regular scheduled BOE meeting is Monday May 16, 2022. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
