The Holiday City Village Council came together for their February regular meeting on Thursday, February 19, and council members found a versatile slate of information before them.

During the Visitor Bureau’s report, council members were reminded tht the second annual Holiday City Wine and Arts Festival will take place on November 7. Like last year, it will be held at the village’s Ramada Inn, and will be sponsored by Jefferson Township. Those with questions about the event can contact the bureau at 419-485-5881,or email them at info@holidaycityohio.org
Village Administrator Gary Baker bought a new copier for the Holiday City Administrative Offices on the village’s behalf. The copier was purchased from Current Office Solutions. Its predecessor was replaced due to reliability issues.

For the first time in five years, the council approved a resolution to designate their depositories. Once every half-decade, the village has to reaffirm where they will keep their funds. Council members decided to leave their money divided between Farmers and Merchants and Star Banks. Due to the haste necessary in this matter, the council invoked emergency powers to waive the three reading protocol.

Council members Pamela Day and Ron Keil Jr. were reminded that their terms will be up on December 31 of this year. The filing deadline for those hoping to fill those seats, including both Day and Keil, who will likely seek out new terms, is August 5. A $30 fee must be paid by all potential candidates to the Williams County Board of Elections.

The council concluded the meeting by entering into Executive Session in order to discuss the possible public acquisition of real estate. No action was expected.
