The Bryan Board of Public Affairs met on August 15, 2023 at 5 p.m. Present were Chair Dick Long, members Annette Schreiner, Karen Ford, and Tom Sprow, as well as BMU Director of Utilities Derek Schultz, Mayor Carrie Schlade and Clerk / Treasurer John Lehner.

After the minutes of the August 1, 2023 meeting were approved as presented, the Board approved the Clerk / Treasurer report, which covered the financials and investments through the month of July.

The Board then approved Resolutions 14-2023 authorizing the sale of city-owned property via an online auction through GovDeals.

Water Department employee Stuart Martin was then approved to be taken off probationary status and moved to regular employee status, as were Clerk / Treasurer Office employees Melissa Leupp and Kendra Reamsnyder.

The Board then made a motion to pay the bills as presented before Mr. Schultz shared details about a tank competition for the best water tower of the year, changes that are coming to how residents purchase gas from Ohio Gas, and an update that nearly 95% of meters are installed for the AMI project and water meters have begun being installed before congratulating Kendra and Melissa.

Mayor Carrie Schlade invited the Board to attend the council meeting that will take place on the 21st so that they may hear the Williams County EMS Levy Committee and ask them any questions they may have.

The Board congratulated Stuart Martin, Melissa Leupp, and Kendra Reamsnyder before entering into recess until their executive session to discuss the acquisition of property.
