APPRECIATIONS … Board members listen as thanks is given to Anthony Burnett and Shane Martin for their many years of service.

The North Central Board Of Education held their meeting on Tuesday, December 19th. The meeting began at 6 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The board first moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting as well as the financial reports.
Then came the treasurer’s report which included cafeteria reports, appropriations, and several donations.
The board thanked the Williams County Beef Producers as well as the Williams County Dairy Association for their generous donations to the school.
Next, the superintendent gave his report, with it being stated he would begin his report with “thank you and appreciations”.
He gave several appreciations which included ones to outgoing board members Anthony Burnett and Shane Martin. Burnett has been a board member for eight years while Martin has been on the board for 16 years.
“Thank you and appreciation for the amount of time, effort, and passion you have put forth for the benefit of our educational system.”
“As I sit here before you today with appreciation, we want to recognize the years of service to the board of education. Their service has been a testament of their unwavering dedication to shaping the future of our community through the importance of education.”
“In a world where change is constant and stability and guidance provided by our board members are invaluable, their wisdom, foresight and commitment have steered our educational journey through challenges and triumphs of life.”
“They have not only overseen the growth of our schools but have also been instrumental in fostering an environment where students can thrive both academically and socially,” said Superintendent Michael Bute.
Then, the elementary principal and special education supervisor both gave their reports before the board moved on to discuss the upcoming organizational meeting.
The organizational meeting was set for Tuesday, January 8th at 4:30 p.m. with a regular board meeting to follow.
The board also approved several items which included, Katie Burt as pro tempore president for the organizational meeting, 2024 Ohio School Board Association membership dues, an annual tax levy and the intent to purchase property. The property is east of the school and is the south half of 508 Baubice Street.
The board then moved to approve a list of personnel recommendations resulting in a 4-1 vote with Chuck Haynes being the no vote.
Lastly, the board moved to enter into executive session at 6:32 p.m. Upon the board’s return it was moved to adjourn for the evening.
