Edon And Stryker Battle To Tie In Nine Inning Brawl

June 8, 2015Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

(June 4th, 2015) – STRYKER: In what was initially scheduled as a double header, the Panthers of Stryker hosted the Edon Bombers in their den for nine innings of ACME baseball. The two squads were among the top teams in the Buckeye Border Conference last Spring, battling against one another in a couple of memorable contests. Though Stryker swept the series, the talented Bombers were not intimidated in the least, instead seeking revenge.

They wouldn’t get it, however, though Stryker wouldn’t earn their third victory against the Bombers in 2015 either. Rather, the two teams let their defenses do most of the work, concluding the nine inning match-up in a draw.

Edon and Stryker tied without scoring a run, 0-0.

Edon would earn four hits in the contest, while the Stryker bats struggled all game long, preventing them from registering a hit.

Edon pitcher Hayden Runyan was phenomenal in the contest. Pitching for seven innings, he refused to allow even a singe hit. Not only that, but he turned in a 14 strikeout effort as well. His teammate, junior-to-be Braden Miller, finished the no hitter, striking out 3 in the final two innings of play.

Stryker’s Brody Shock was no less impressive, as the pitcher lasted all nine innings of the contest. While on the mound, he exhibited excellent control, throwing 24 first pitch strikes against the Bomber bats. He was able to turn those great starts into strikeouts, sitting down 11 batters.

Tyler Seaman led the Edon offensive attack. The Bomber hitter earned 2 hits against Shock. Levi Brandt would contribute another.
