(July 5th, 2015) – WEST UNITY: Opening ACME post-season play, the Bombers of Edon made the trek to West Unity to take on the Cadets.  Establishing themselves right away, the Bomber boys were able to leave with the victory.

Edon topped Hilltop 6-1.

After a scoreless first inning, Edon racked up 3 runs in the top of the second.  It wouldn’t be until the bottom of the fourth, as they put up a run of their own in the inning.  Yet the Bombers held the Cadet offense at bay for the rest of the contest, adding three more runs to their own collective score.

Colton Lyman produced half of the Bomber runs on his, hitting a 3 run homerun during a 1 for 4 day at the plate.  Teammate Carson Brandt went 2 for 4 standing in the batter’s box, hitting for a pair of triples.  Tyler Seaman, though he didn’t register a hit, was responsible for a pair of RBIs, thanks to a sacrifice fly.

Tyler Suboski, going 1 for 3 at the plate, hit for a single.  Fellow Cadet Quinn Smith also hit a single, scoring the team’s only run while going 1 for 2 with his bat.  Nic Schieber and Levi Grant also contributed singles, with each batter connecting on 1 of their 3 attempts from the plate.

Edon pitcher Hayden Runyan collected the win for the Bombers, lasting all 7 innings of play.  Allowing no earned runs from just 4 hits, he struck out 6 Hilltop batters, walking only 1 more.

Kohl Collins assumed the loss for the Cadets.  The rising sophomore pitched for 6 innings of work, giving up 5 earned runs off of 5 hits.  He also accumulated 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.  Relieving him for the final inning was Isaac VanArsdalen.
