Bryan held their Annual Flair on the Square on Saturday, July 27th. The event held a multitude of activities to enjoy throughout the day beginning at 10:00am and wrapping up at 9:00pm. Everything about Flair on the Square radiates around art.

The annual art festival incorporates live music, unique foods, and a fresh market among so many other things to come together and create the truly one-of-a-kind events.

On the festival’s north stage, they held dance and theater showcases which many individuals from the community participated in and where they got the opportunity to show off their skills.

The south stage of the festival which sat at the corner of Main and Butler featured live musical performances throughout the day with a total of eight different bands and artist entertaining the crowd.

Art activities were held around the courthouse square. Art demonstration and a interactive community art gave the community the opportunity to take part in making some artwork for themselves. Several things the community could do for free was bake watercolor stained bandannas as well as spray paint vinyl records with a stencil of the Flair on the Square logo.

A juried art fair as well as an emerging artist’s exhibit was on display.

The opportunity to participate in an art walk around the square was also an enjoyment of the day. The art walk consisted of 23 local artists having their work on display in the windows of a variety of local downtown shops.

The discussion, emceed by Casey Wood, gave the community the opportunity to learn more about creative career opportunities through the art world industry.

From live music through the day, unique foods, art demonstrations and tons of free family fun activities the event was once again a success and provided so many with a new outlook on art and the creative capabilities it holds as well as the opportunity the partake in those creative pathways and see the difference art can make in the world.
