The Fulton County Senior Center started their annual Cruise-Ins back up this past week. The event, which was held for three years until 2017 at the center’s previous location, was held on Friday, August 23rd.

The event was a previous success at the senior center but had begun to outgrow the organization’s previous location. Now, with the center’s new building, the decision was made to bring the event back.

This decision made many of the seniors who frequent the center happy, along with others who do not make it in as often.

In fact, Senior Center Director Sheri Rychener explained that this was some senior’s first time back at the center since the event was last held.

The event did, however, experience a small change when it saw the date moved due to issues with the weather.

This change worked out weather wise though, as it was nice and cool for everyone who wished to travel back down memory lane. Those memories are also one of the reasons why this event was put on in the first place.

Rychener explained that many of the seniors like to share memories of the time they spent in some of the vehicles that came. “The seniors are enjoying it. It has brought in new faces and the dining area is packed.”

“Every seat is full. This is due to all the memories people share with these cars. It is fun to listen to the stories they have when they are seeing the cars,” said Rychener.
