MILLCREEK-WEST UNITY BOARD OF EDUCATION: Board Learns About Upcoming Prayer Breakfast

The Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, September 16th. The meeting began at 6:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The board first heard from Tony Gerig who reported on the free sports pass program for Hilltop students in grades 3-12 who were on the honor roll within the prior 9 weeks. All K-2 students are admitted into athletic events for free.

Administration reports were then delivered to the board from building principals before also hearing from Rebecca Miller in regard to the county prayer breakfast taking place on September 24th.

The breakfast will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church located at 903 Center Street in Bryan. The meal will be served in the Fellowship Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with a program to follow in the sanctuary at 10:00 a.m.

The following items were then approved by the board as part of a consent agenda. Minutes, financial statements and a list of investments for August 2024. A list of permanent appropriation by fund for FY 25, the setting of a petty cash maximum limit for athletics to $4,000, and a transfer of the Class of 2024 balance 200 9024 to the High School Principal’s Fund 018 9002 for Esports in the amount of $1,414.69.

A revenue increase for fund 300-9500 Athletics in the amount of $20,000, approval of the curriculum for the 2024-2025 school year, and a list of personnel recommendations.

Also approved were additional workdays for specific employees, a list of donations made to the school, a request for graduate study reimbursements for Troy Cummins, approval of Cafeteria ala carte items for the 2024-2025 school year, and approval for various club participations.

With no other items needing attention from board members, the meeting was adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
